Rosie's Poem

Wildflower Church
By Rozie Szmyd, age 11

I awoke to the bright Sunday morning
I had a feeling Wildflower would be boring
Everyone noticed that our family was new
We stuck out like a big, bright tattoo
Friendly people soon saw us, then we were greeted
After that we took a book and then we were seated
All the voices joined together for each and every song
The sound that was heard was so friendly and strong
When my mom made me come here, at first I was mad
But then I realized this wasn't so bad
For such a small church, it was extremely prepared
That made me realize how much these people cared
They didn't come because there was nothing to do
They came because they wanted to
These people really cared about each other
They really, really loved one another
The amazing thing was everyone's dedication
This clearly was not just about the donation
Each member was truly, completely enrolling
The youth group even got to go bowling
Each Sunday everyone would once again meet
We'd sing and we'd talk and we'd learn and we'd eat
Before I knew it, I was having fun
So thanks everyone for what you have done
