What should I (and my children) wear to this church?

Wear whatever you feel like wearing. Most people wear "casual professional," ranging from blue jeans to suits. Children should dress comfortably so they can participate in art projects and outdoor activities.

What do children do during the worship service?

Childcare is offered during the service for children ages 1-4 years of age. Children 5-13 years of age stay with their parents during the first part of the service, then go to their own activities. Our older children (11-15 years) meet with two adult advisors on Sunday Mornings for fellowship, leadership development, social action and active discussion.

If my child doesn't separate well, can she or he stay with me in the service?

YES! You may also remain in your child’s classroom if that works best. After a few times your child will probably be comfortable on his/her own.

Are people of all ages, races and sexual orientations welcome in this congregation?

Yes, definitely!

What happens during a typical worship service?

The service usually consists of traditional and contemporary music, singing, readings, a prayer with a short meditation period, and a sermon. After the service, most people stay for coffee and conversation. Please join us so we can meet you.

How do I become a member of the church?

Adults sign an Intent-to-Join Card, then wait 90 days before signing the Membership Book during a Signing Ceremony.
During the waiting period, potential members participate in the life of the church by volunteering in some capacity, making an identifiable financial contribution, and pledging financial support for the church’s future at a level that is comfortable for them. Before joining, adults are strongly encouraged to learn more about the church and Unitarian Universalism.
