Music at Wildflower Church

It is said, “You can’t be all things to all people,” but when it comes to music at Wildflower Church, we certainly try! The Wildflower Choir was formed at the same time Wildflower Church began having services, in 2001. We have continued with the Choir singing two Sundays a month, and on the other Sundays, other Wildflower and guest musicians have provided an array of music genres, including classical, folk, Middle Eastern, bluegrass, popular, blues, rock, and gospel.

Among our Wildflower musicians are Steve Brooks and the Wildflower Peace Train Band, composed of Patterson Barrett, Dana McBride, and Rob Bollinger. Other Wildflower musicians contribute to our services. We invite anyone interested in providing music for a worship service to contact us.

We are also very fortunate to have a gifted Pianist and Choir Director, Elke Baitis, as well as the twenty members who make up the Choir. We are truly musically blessed! Anyone who loves to sing is welcome to join the choir, which rehearses at 7:30 on most Wednesday nights at Faith Presbyterian Church. (The choir does not rehearse during June and July.)

 Hymns

There’s another group of singers at our worship services: the Congregation! Singing hymns is an integral part of our worship experience. We use the standard Unitarian Universalist hymnal that includes many Wildflower favorites, and also a paperback hymnal that includes some newer songs.
