Finding a Home of Our Own

A long-held dream for Wildflower Church is that we acquire a Home of Our Own—a place to worship and work that is ours 24/7. Each year brings us closer to that dream.

In 2005, the congregation voted through our Long Range Plan for 2005 – 2009, to transfer $50,000 in accumulated funds from our Operating Fund to our Capital/Building Fund. This was seed money to further our efforts to realize our dream.

Since that time, the Capital/Building Fund has grown to more than $200,000, and it’s still growing! Our congregation has given strong support to our Spring Wildflower Auction Party (SWAP) several years in a row, resulting in more than $19,000 in contributions to the Fund. An additional $15,000 has been given through contributions to the five spring Egg-Painting Brunches hosted by Dagmar and Terry Grieder.

Our Building Committee is currently looking at various kinds of property, including raw land on which we might someday build, existing buildings that could be remodeled for our use, and churches that are being vacated by their current congregations.
