Home of Our Own Volunteer Opportunities
We need your help!
We have some wonderful people who are very generous with their time and expertise leading this effort. But they can’t do it all! We will all need to pitch in if we are to realize our dream of having A Home of our Own – that means you and you and you and you!
Please consider filling out a Volunteer Form and giving it to one of the members of the Board, Steering Committee or Building Committee. We especially need more help in the areas listed below. Please volunteer if you have time, interest or skills that can help in these areas.
Volunteer Positions Needed:
- We need a Facilities Management Research Coordinator to work on the Implementation team during the first two phases of the earnest money contract (60 days) to help with researching both the approaches to managing the new facility and the cost to those approaches. This person will work with a small subset of the Building Committee, and will lead the activities to research options for facilities services. The options and costs will be evaluated and recommendations will be made to the Implementation/Building and Steering Committees on the preferred approach. Cost estimates will be critical information going into the evaluation of the viability of managing this facility before we proceed to a Capital Campaign.
- The Capital Campaign committee needs help with planning and setting-up our Kick-Off Party. They also need people to join the team of canvassers to raise the needed funds. These activities are short-tern (3 weeks) and will take place in late April through mid-May. If you are interested, please contact .
- To prepare for the ongoing responsibilities, light remodeling activities, and move-in activities, we need leaders and team members on the Implementation Team. This is where most of us can participate in some form of clean-up, painting, light carpentry (such as bookcases or shelving), preparing or building a playground, and cooking or providing refreshments for workers, or babysitting for workers.
