Social Action Sundays
Social Action Sundays happen once a month on the third Sunday. You can help make South Austin and our world a better place by participating in one or more of the following:
- Give generously to the Second Offering. This is a once a month offering that is collected for a charity that serves people in south Austin.
- Participate in the "Food for Thought: Thought for Action" gathering that meets following the service from 11:45 until 1:00 p.m. It will begin with a snack potluck, and you are invited to bring a snack to share (but join in even if you don't, as there will be plenty of food!). Several Wildflowers will present their views on the topic of the day followed by small group discussions and sharing. It will be a fun way to get to know other Wildflowers and explore an issue of wide interest.
- Visit the Social Action table to recycle or donate the following items:
- Used eyeglasses for the South Austin Lion’s Club
- Empty printer cartridges for resale by the Food Bank to help feed the hungry
- Canned and non-perishable food items for the Capitol Area Food Bank to help the less fortunate. Because of reduced funding, this is a time of pressing need for the agency.
